China has send a clear signal on opening-up to the world during the ongoing two sessions, as the government work report said the country will implement opening-up policies in a wider scope, broader areas and at a deeper level, and better participate in international economic cooperation.

The report also said the country will increase the imports of quality products and services and ensure the success of key exhibitions including the China International Import Expo, the China Import and Export Fair, and the China International Fair for Trade in Services, the report said.

The China International Import Expo has been successfully held for three consecutive years, with the total value of the intended transactions surpassing $200 billion, according to the CIIE Bureau.

China was the only major global economy to post gains last year, and its super-large market will provide a steady growth impetus to the world economy, Jiang Ying, vice-chairwoman of Deloitte China, and also a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was quoted as saying by news website chinanews.com.

The CIIE has been a boon to foreign businessmen interested in the Chinese market, and has facilitated the entry of high-quality goods into China, improving the country's supply-side efficiency to form a virtuous circle, Jiang added.

With the aid of the CIIE, China has taken the initiative to expand imports to pool advantageous resources around the world for high-quality development, People's Daily said.

The gathering of more quality goods and services, cutting edge technologies and innovative resources in China is driving the country's supply structure in improvement and efficiency enhancement as well as satisfying diversified consumer needs and boosting industrial transformation and upgrading, said Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO of Lenovo, and also a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress, as quoted by People's Daily.

The expo is an important window into China's wider opening-up, People's Daily said.

Thanks to supportive policies, the draw and international influence of the CIIE have been further enhanced, and the sales channels of exhibitors have been greatly expanded, promoting the expansion of imports, said Zhang Weimin, deputy general manager of Eastbest & Lansheng Group Shanghai International Trade Promotion Co Ltd, and a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress, as quoted by chinanews.com.

The CIIE has built a broad platform for foreign investment, helped foreign companies to expand their market in China and even in global markets, and provided plenty of development opportunities, said Tang Liang, chairman of Ossengroup, and a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress.

Moreover, the expo also set up an international public platform for supporting economic globalization and maintaining the multilateral trading system, Tang added.

This year, China will hold the fourth CIIE in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.
